Natural diamonds
For natural centre diamonds, NOBLIS uses reports from the Gemological Institute of America. A report identifies the diamond and documents its gemological characteristics.
Lab-grown diamonds
For lab-grown centre diamonds, NOBLIS uses IGI reports stating the stone’s origin and the characteristics needed for a complete assessment.

Natural and lab-grown
Both are diamonds. The fundamental difference is their origin: one forms in nature, while the other is created in a controlled technological environment.
Natural diamond
Formed in nature over immense periods of time, every natural diamond is distinguished by its origin, individuality and rarity.
Natural diamonds hold a special place at NOBLIS and are selected individually for the atelier’s signature creations.
Lab-grown diamond
Created in a controlled technological environment, a lab-grown diamond has the same fundamental crystal structure as a natural diamond, but a different origin.
NOBLIS reserves lab-grown diamonds for dedicated collections, selecting them for colour, clarity, cut precision and visual balance.

Characteristics
We assess carat weight, colour, clarity, cut, symmetry, fluorescence and the stone’s proportions.

We study how a diamond reflects and distributes light, because stones with similar specifications can look different.

Frequently asked questions
Is a lab-grown diamond cubic zirconia?
No. Cubic zirconia is a different material. A lab-grown diamond is a diamond with the same fundamental crystal structure as a natural diamond, created in a controlled technological environment.
What contributes most to a diamond’s beauty?
No characteristic should be judged in isolation. Cut and proportions are essential to light performance, while shape, symmetry and overall balance all contribute to its appearance.
Does every diamond receive an individual report?
Centre diamonds selected by NOBLIS come with the appropriate gemological report: GIA for natural and IGI for lab-grown. Small melee diamonds are documented in the NOBLIS creation’s quality certificate.
Can I choose the diamond before the jewellery is made?
Yes. We begin with the centre diamond. Once the stone is chosen, the design is developed around its shape, dimensions and proportions.
Does a report guarantee a diamond’s beauty?
A report confirms gemological characteristics and identity, but stones with similar results can look different. NOBLIS therefore also assesses each diamond visually.
